Understand the soil first, sow the right crop next.
SoilSense now follows a proper farm journey. First it sets up the device, then it studies the field for a few days, then it ranks the best crops for sowing, and after crop selection it helps manage that crop through maturity, water, risk and market value.
Currently on startup. No crop selected yet.
1. Initial setup
Connect the SoilSense device, choose analysis duration, and prepare the field sensor workflow.
2. Initial soil mode
Run a few days of readings before sowing. This lets the system understand moisture, temperature, salt pressure and field conditions.
3. Crop recommendation + care
After enough data is collected, SoilSense shows the best Indian crops to sow and then switches into crop-specific management mode.
Initial Setup
Connect the device, choose how many days to analyse the soil, and prepare the first monitoring cycle.
Device connection
SoilSense device ID
Give this installation a simple field name so the farmer can identify it easily.
Connection Mode
Connection status
Device not connected yet.
Analysis configuration
How long should setup analysis run?
Short analysis is faster. Longer analysis gives stronger sowing recommendations.
Land size for prediction
Enter land area in hectares so water and price estimates become more precise.
Mode after analysis
SoilSense will rank crops for sowing and then lock into crop-specific care after selection.

eNAM / Mandi market feed
Native backend integration active. Live data.gov.in prices are automatically fed into the economic models.
IMD weather feed
Native backend integration active. Live IMD forecasts automatically drive water and ET0 predictions.
Device Placement Guide
Before analysis starts, place the sensor unit correctly so the collected data reflects real soil conditions.
How to place the device
Use the visual guide and keep the placement simple for the farmer.
- Place the unit in representative soil, not in the wettest or driest corner.
- Keep the main device body above the splash zone and safe from standing water.
- Insert the moisture probe near the root-zone depth of the intended crop.
- Avoid field edges, water channels, bunds, or heavy shade points.
- Leave the device undisturbed during the initial soil analysis period.
Regional Calibration
Select your State and District. ASTRA uses this to pull exact Mandi prices from Data.gov.in and IMD weather forecasts for your area.
Set Region Data
Initial Soil Analysis Mode
Run for a few days, gather readings, and let the system understand the field before sowing advice is shown.

These are the best available crop options for sowing based on the soil data gathered during setup. Select one crop first, then confirm it.
Main Dashboard
After crop selection, SoilSense returns to the main dashboard UI and now keeps tracking that crop using the setup data, daily readings, maturity timing and market context.
Data first. Healthy and profitable crops.
The dashboard now uses the earlier clean UI pattern and adds soil-analysis-based crop care, maturity timing, price context and reset control.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often does the sensor sync?
Readings are updated every 15 minutes via Bluetooth or LoRa depending on setup.
When should I reset?
Reset only when you want to start again from device setup and fresh soil analysis.
Why is crop selection after analysis?
The system needs baseline soil behaviour before giving reliable sowing suggestions.

Proper visual manual
Step 1 — Setup
Connect the device and name the field sensor clearly.
Step 2 — Soil analysis
Let SoilSense run for a few days before sowing so the recommendation is based on actual soil behaviour.
Step 3 — Confirm crop
Pick one crop from the recommendation list and confirm it to enter the main dashboard.
Step 4 — Daily use
Use Dashboard for status, Water Plan for irrigation estimate, and Help whenever the farmer needs support.
